24 Weeks

Growing Baby Woods,

At 24 weeks you are about a pound and a half, and you are nearly 13 inches long. You kick all the time. When I wake up three times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom I feel you just playing away in there. I can finally feel you kicking from the outside now when I put my hand on my stomach. Your dad hasn't gotten to feel you yet because EVERY TIME he comes over to feel you, you stop. That and he isn't very patient. Sometimes you are just kicking away in there so hard that you can see my stomach popping up where your feet are and then your dad comes over and you suddenly just stop. Dad says its because he calms you down. Hmmm... we will see.

Getting Big!

This last week a lot has happened. Your Grandma Patty has been really ill and had to have brain surgery. Its been tough for everyone because we love her so much and we are all just praying and praying that everything turns out alright. I can't tell you how much she has shaped my life and how much I need my mom here to teach me how to be a good mom myself. I can't wait to share the kind of relationship with you that I have with my mother. She's a sweet, loving woman that I pray has many years to love you, laugh with you, and bake sugar cookies with you. I am so thankful you are healthy and just hope that we can get your Grandma healthy too.

Me and MY Mommy

We went to Salem to celebrate Easter and got to catch up with your aunts and your cousin Sophia. She's getting excited about your arrival and kept petting my belly and talking to you. She kept asking to see you and when we couldn't show you to her she lifted up my dress to get a better peek. When we were leaving she came to tell you goodbye and loving scratched my belly because she said you liked it. I'm so happy that you will get to spend quality time with your cousins growing up. I never lived very close to my cousins and I always wished that I had gotten to spend more time with them. I hope to welcome you into a close knit family of people you get to see a lot and spend a lot of time with. There is really no replacement for family time.

We made you a cute pink egg too but it was really hard to read...

We worked on getting your nursery set up this week with your Nana Janice and Papa Larry. They got to come up and see us and set up the lovely furniture they bought for you. Unfortunately it turned out to be the wrong color and we had to return it, but we still had a fun time with them. We did end up with a nice crib for you before they left and me and your dad worked on setting it up the next day. Having it set up makes us even more excited to have you here.

Another thing I'm super excited for is our baby showers coming up. Your Aunt Amy is throwing us a shower in Columbia on June 10th and you Aunt Blair is throwing us one is Springfield on May 19th. I can't wait to get together with everyone and celebrate your impending arrival. We got our first invite in the mail yesterday and it is so cute. Looking forward to feathering your nest.

This week we have another ultrasound to check on your growth. See you on the screen tomorrow baby girl!

Much Love,
