6 Weeks

Growing Baby Woods,

This week was a very special week because we got to meet you for the first time (via ultrasound)!

There are so many things that can go wrong early in a pregnancy and I felt so incredibly lucky and blessed to be able to see your little body, see your flickering heartbeat, and to be able to cross off so many worries I had had about what might be wrong. We found that there is only one of you, you are in exactly the right place, you are growing right on schedule, and you appear to be tucked in safe and sound to your mom. Again, I can't believe how blessed we are. There is truly no feeling in the world like getting to see your baby's heartbeat for the first time.

We have another ultrasound scheduled for next week so that we can hear and measure your heartbeat, check on your growth rate, and nail down a due date. Our first full OB appointment is that day also, complete with blood work, measurements, and parents-to-be education. Next Tuesday can't come soon enough. It will be great to see you again and see how much you've grown in a week.

We are getting really excited for the coming week because it's Christmas and we are going to start spreading our good news. It will be so nice for our family and friends to be able to share the joy we have over this new baby.
