On Tuesday we had our 13 week NT Scan and our three month check up at the OB. We had been looking forward to it for weeks and were so excited to see how much you had grown. Last time we saw you, you looked a little bit like a dinosaur (a precious dinosaur of course) and were around 1.5 cm long. This week you looked like a sweet little baby and were a whopping 5.6 cm from head to rump. No wonder I've been so tired!
13 Weeks! Holding your hand up to your face :)
You were so active at the NT scan that they had to keep looking around and waiting for you to sit still so they could get the pictures they needed. You were kicking, punching, rolling around, and swallowing- it was pretty cool to see how much you had changed and all the new things you were doing.
Your Little Profile- Hand At Your Side
The high risk doctor whom reads the NT scans met with us afterwards (which scared your dad) but he just wanted to tell us that you looked perfectly healthy and happy, and that it appeared that you did not have any birth defects, problems, or issues whatsoever. Your spine looks formed and closed and all of your body parts are forming as they should. What a relief!
On Friday I started having a few issues, so I had to go back to the doctor and have another ultrasound to make sure that what was going on was just a fluke and had nothing to do with you. To my surprise you already looked bigger and had grown to just over 7 cm (you grew 1.5 cm in three days!) The ultrasound tech told me that at this size, you were actually ahead of your due date by about three days- good job baby! You were sleeping when we first saw you, but by the end of the ultrasound you had woken up and looked like you were clapping your hands. Luckily the doctor said everything looked perfect and you appeared to be healthy and safe. Still I was ordered to take a few days off and just lay on the couch and rest. I must say, I've been so tired lately that its a welcome break. So glad that you appear to be ok in there, you all had us worried for a second.
This weekend we finally picked out a crib! Your Nana Janice and Papa Larry were kind enough to offer to buy you a crib, so we have been searching for exactly the right one for the last few weeks and we are so glad we finally found it. It has a matching changing table and dresser so your room will be the most complete, put together room in the whole house! You are one lucky baby to have so many people that love you and are looking forward to meeting you.
I go back to the doctor on Tuesday just to make sure you are still doing great. Our gender ultrasound is March 21st and of course we are looking forward to finding out whether you are a little girl or a little boy. At our ultrasounds this week we tried to cheat and find out early, but they couldn't see anything definitive (so they said). I think you look like you have girl parts, but hey I'm an orthopedic nurse not an ultrasound tech, so we will see!
Love,

adorable! lookin' good mama!
